Mama called the doctor, and the doctor said,
“No more monkeys jumping on the bed!”
4 little monkeys jumping on the bed…

Shake my sillies out
Gonna shake, shake, shake my sillies out,
Shake, shake, shake my sillies Out,
Shake, shake, shake my sillies out,
And wiggle my waggles away.

Gonna clap, clap, clap, my crazies out…
Gonna jump, jump, jump my jiggles out…
Gonna yawn, yawn, yawn my sleepies out…

Row your Boat
Row row row your boat,
Gently down the stream,
Merrily merrily merrily merrily,
Life is but a dream.

This is the Way
This is the way we hike in the woods,
Hike in the woods, hike in the woods.
This is the way we hike in the woods,
when we go out to camp!
-fish in the stream
-roast our marshmallows
-set up the tent

Sleeping Bag Chant
I was lying in my sleeping bag- I couldn’t get to sleep
When the wind began to howl and the bugs began to creep.
So I rolled to my left and I rolled to the right
But all I could do was hear the noises in the night—
I heard an owl (hoo, hoo)
… Bat (flap, flap)
… Cat (meow, meow)
…Frog (ribbit, ribbit)
… Bear! (roar, roar)

Under the Blanket
Under the dark there is a star
Under the star there is a tree
Under the tree there is a blanket
Under the blanket there is me!

Campfire Pokey
You put your marshmallow in,
You take your marshmallow out,
You put your marshmallow in,
And you shake it all about.
You do the campfire pokey
and you turn yourself around,
That’s what it’s all about! HEY!
… hotdog, fish, whole dinner

2 Little Campers
2 little campers sitting on a hill,
One named Jack and one named Jill
Run away Jack, run away Jill
Come back Jack and come back Jill

Silly Song
1, 2 tie my shoe. 3, 4 eat s’mores.
5, 6 pick up (fire) sticks.
7, 8 lay them straight.
9, 10 a big bear’s den, GRRRR!

Twinkling Stars
(tune: Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star)
Twinkle, twinkle, little stars
Stand and twinkle where you are.
Twinkle high and twinkle low.
Twinkle fast and twinkle slow.
Twinkle, twinkle little stars.
Sit and twinkle where you are.

Beach Storytime

What better way to celebrate the beginning of summer and our beautiful Florida beaches than with a BEACH storytime?

My Big Blue Boat
I love to sail in my big blue boat
My big blue boat, my big blue boat
I love to sail in my big blue boat
Out on the deep blue sea.

My big blue boat has two red sails,
Two red sails, two red sails,
My big blue boat has two red sails,
Out on the deep blue sea. Blue Fish

A blue fish went swimming by
He swam down low, he swam up high
He wriggled his fins and shook his scales
and swished his graceful blue tail.

Row your Boat
Row row row your boat,
Gently down the stream,
Merrily merrily merrily merrily,
Life is but a dream.

At the beach
I dig a hole in the sand with my fingers
I dig a hole in the sand with my toes
Then I pour some water in the hole,
And I wonder where it goes?

What did I see at the beach?
I went to the beach. What did I see?
A bird on the sand looking at me!
I went to the beach. What did I see?
A fish in the water splashing at me!
I went to the beach. What did I see?
A shell in the sand sparkling at me!
I went to the beach. What did I see?
A crab in its shell waving at me!

Hear the ocean roar
(tune: I’ve been working on the railroad)
I went swimming in the ocean
On a summer day.
I went swimming in the ocean
And kicked, and splashed and played.
After lunch we looked for seashells
I found three or four
You can hold one up to your ear.
And hear the ocean roar.
Hear the ocean roar Hear the ocean roar.
You can hear the ocean roar, roar, roar.
Hear the ocean roar Hear the ocean roar
Hear the ocean roar, roar, roar.

The Waves at the Beach
The waves at the beach go up and down,
up and down, up and down,
The waves at the beach go up and down,
all day long.
The crabs at the beach crawl back and forth…
The lobsters at the beach go, snap, snap, snap…
The clams at the beach go open and shut…

10 little children splash in the sea!
1 little, 2 little, 3 little children 4 little, 5 little,
6 little children 7 little, 8 little 9 little children
10 little children in the sea!
