April is... Going Green

Earth Day is April 22nd and here at the library, we've been celebrating! Our storytime themes have been about water and recycling- we've made awesome recycled object art and school aged kids have enjoyed several Saturday afternoon programs.

The first one this month was based around the Dr. Seuss book- The Lorax. We read the book, made recycled Truffula trees, played Truffula toss and each received a seed. This is a great book to teach about our responsibility to the environment. This month, you can purchase the book and the Lorax plush animal for $5 each at Kohls!

The next program school aged kids enjoyed was Bike Safety with Mr. Josh. This week, Trad's Garden Center will be here (Saturday @2 pm). Kids will be making planters out of newspaper to take their new plants home with them!

There is more in store for April- hope to see you all here!
